work stalled...

Camper demo stalled. They built that thing to last--but the roof is rotting and I can't do this myself. They have it together w/4x4's and lag bolts-one porch and 2 campers..unbelievable. So there are 2 guys coming Friday to tear it out and hall the metal away. I have to take care of the trash of course :( and it will cost me but I guess it's worth it. Then I can get started w/the building process, which is more important.

Artist Statement

I have loved and appreciated art all of my life. I feel a great deal of emotion when my artistic side is speaking out on canvas, in organic materials or through the computer. My goal is to have people look at my work and feel emotional too.

I want my work to not only satisfy me but to play with the audience and lure them in. For them to put their own life's events into my work in order to make it their own story. When I work, the art piece may transform itself from the original idea and takes on a life of it's own...once I start selecting the materials then begin the process of creating....it's something intuitive. This transformation occurs because of where I am inside my head and heart as I work.

I take a lot of photographs and sometimes paint these images or use them in graphics work. I love to paint with oils because it gives a certain depth and life to the image. My art has grown and changed since my move to the lake and now my get away to the studio/camp.

I have been working with clay over the past year and have found this to be so intriguing! There is nothing like it. Working on the wheel and handbuilding is my new love. I have tried my hand at sculpting and jewelry making, in particular metal work with the jewelry pieces and I have to admit that although these were great fun I have a long way to go. I am designing pieces that play with all of the techniques I have learned, including painting. Stay tuned!

The lake and now the camp have brought out my spiritual side which I lost so many years ago. This spiritual, artistic side plays out at the end of my brush, my clay, my computer screen, my gardens and other creative activities I happen to be involved in at that moment.

Not everyone feels they have an artistic side or shys away from art because it's not important to them at the moment. But if they allow themselves just a moment to drink it in, they may be surprised at what emotions may rise from their inner soal.
